Frequently Asked Questions

How long do you see a Dietitian for?

Typically we work with individuals for 3-6 months, but it could be different based on your unique needs. Since we focus on behavioral health as well as nutrition education, there is a lot of work to do. We use follow-up sessions for continued support, accountability, and motivation to make sure you stay on track with your goals. We determine the frequency of follow-up that best fits your needs at the end of your first session. Do you accept insurance?

Our practice is out-of-network with insurance providers and payment is due at the time of your appointment. However, if you have out-of-network insurance benefits, these may apply to nutrition services. Find out more here. We also have limited spots for sliding scale services, please call to learn more.

I don’t live in Michigan, can I still work with you?

Yes! We are licensed in most states and offer the option to work with all of our clients virtually. We will meet via video conference and communicate between sessions using email. You get the same high-quality support without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

What conditions do you provide counseling for?

We see patients for many conditions including, but not limited to: high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, gout, gallstones, PCOS, food allergies and intolerances, IBS, celiac disease, gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD), chronic constipation, nutrient deficiencies, osteoporosis; nutrition for special groups like older adults, vegans and vegetarians, those in peri-through post-menopause, and athletes; and general healthy eating if you would like to take a food-first approach to preventative healthcare, especially if chronic diseases run in your family medical history. We recommend calling our office or sending us a message to make sure we can provide treatment if you have a specific diagnosis. If we can’t, we will find a referral so you can get the care you need.
